Bring Your Student Model To The Brandy Alexander For The Best Eyebrows

Rahlee (The Brandy Alexander Beauty Bar) is seen here threading clients eyebrows.

Welcome!

Today’s blog features a spotlight on The Brandy Alexander beauty bar, starring model Alexis O!

Our model visited The Brandy Alexander to meet with their skilled esthetician, Rahlee, for one of their signature services: an expert eyebrow tint and thread. We want to highlight Rahlee’s exceptional talent and precision, particularly her ability to craft the perfect brow shape that uniquely complements your facial features.

Our goal in documenting Alexis’s brow shaping was to show photographers how clean, well-defined brows enhance a beauty portrait by framing the face and highlighting the eyes without drawing focus away from the subject.

About The Brandy Alexander

The Brandy Alexander is a one stop beauty bar in Downtown Whitby. It provides a variety of beauty services including hair, makeup, waxing, threading, brows, lashes and facials. Here is a breakdown of their services, beginning with brows:

They offer two types of hair removal for brows:

Waxing

This method is best suited for people with thicker, coarser hair. It’s also a generally more quicker, less painful method for eyebrow shaping.

Threading

For those who love a flawless, detailed brow, threading is an excellent choice. Because this method works so closely with individual hairs, the results ends up looking much sharper and much more defined. It’s also a great choice for people with sensitive skin because threading only uses the friction between two pieces of string to pull hair out. This method, is of course not without pain but over time, this will become less painful.

Our model, Alexi received the brow shape (threading) & tint pictured above. This method begins with an eyebrow tint (eyebrow dye), which is left on for a couple minutes to darken the brows. Then they are wiped clean and threading begins. During this time, you will be asked to to use your hands to cup and hold your eyes and pull your forehead up so that threading has a more tighter surface to work on - and it also helps with pain management a little.

The end result ends up looking like this:

As you can see from above, threading leaves behind precision while the tint helps hair stand out without being too bold.

If you are a photographer working with a model and you decide to have their eyebrows done for your shoot, we recommend the following:

Visit The Brandy Alexander - They are highly skilled in all things brows and they know exactly how to shape them so it perfectly frames your face. They take a lot of pride in their work and it shows. This entire session took about 15 minutes. Their costs are also affordable - you can expect to spend $28 for a thread & tint.

Plan ahead - Getting your eyebrows done can be fun and feel refreshing but it can also leave you looking a little red. This is completely normal and very common no matter which method of hair removal you choose. But you should keep this in mind if you have a studio or photo session booked soon after this session is complete, as redness can linger and sometimes inflammation can occur and cause some red bumps on skin. We recommend scheduling your eyebrow session separately from your shooting time to ensure proper healing.
